​Hello, ladies! I’m Jillian Abad, born in 1999, making me 25 years old today—proudly navigating this wild and wonderful journey called life. Growing up in Mindanao, Philippines, I was raised in a high middle-class family, living in a luxury house in a private subdivision. My childhood was filled with love, laughter, and the warmth of a big family. With my mom working overseas to support us, I was surrounded by my aunties, uncles, and cousins who became like second parents and siblings to me.

Now, let me tell you something about myself: I’ve always been an observer. Even as a kid, I noticed things that others might overlook. During family reunions, I saw my aunties in action—cooking, cleaning, babysitting, and managing every little detail of the occasion. They were the glue holding everything together, even nursing my uncles with their medicines and supplements. And where were the uncles, you ask? Outside, of course—drinking, chatting, and enjoying themselves without a care in the world. It was like a lightbulb moment for me: "Wait, why are the ladies doing all the work while the men have all the fun?"

That was when I realized I didn’t want any part of a relationship where I’d have to babysit a grown man. I started comparing my aunties who were single and child-free with those who were married. The single aunties were out there living their best lives—traveling to Europe and America, looking fabulous, and most importantly, financially stable. Even as a little girl, I thought to myself, “I want to be like them someday.”

Subconsciously, I understood that a relationship with a man could be a liability—a drain on your time, energy, and yes, your finances too. I saw the extra labor, the mental, physical, and emotional toll it took on the women around me. And don’t even get me started on how it can steal your beauty and youth.

Fast forward to today, I’m an adult now, traveling the world, finishing my master’s degree in business, and planning to dive into a second degree in psychology. Along the way, I discovered Shera Seven, the sprinkle sprinkle queen, and other female icons online who shared their wisdom about dating and relationships. Their stories, along with the heartbreaking experiences of women who faced sexual abuse, domestic violence, and predatory behavior, shook me to my core. It was a wake-up call that the world we live in is not always kind to women, and sometimes society even supports the abusers.

This realization inspired me to start "Ladies Advice." I wanted to create a space where women’s voices are heard, where we can share our stories, learn from one another, and empower ourselves. I’m not here to bash men—I’ve got amazing men in my life, like my uncle and brothers. But being around women who’ve suffered because of men made me want to do something to create change.

Ladies Advice is all about sharing wisdom, empowering women, and reminding you that you deserve the best. We’re here to make sure you never settle for less than you deserve, whether that’s in your career, your relationships, or your personal growth. Because let’s face it, life’s too short to be anything but fabulous.
